The year of 2013 was the year that the USPTO awarded the highest amount of patents. Approximately 227, 861 patents were issued. Despite the lack of Federal funding and the post-issuance review of the America Invents Act in 2013, the amount of patents issued proved to be 10% higher than the year 2012. This makes last year the fourth consecutive year for patent issuance record setting according to the USPTO.
