Atlantic survey offers insight to state of US innovation

The Atlantic recently published a panel survey of 50 executives, innovators, and thinkers in the Silicon Valley.  The survey contains a lot of information which may be of interest to our innovative readers and clients.  Perhaps most worth noting is the response to the question: “What is the biggest barrier to innovation in the United States?”  The answers in the poll were as follows:

 

  • Government regulation/bureaucracy 20%
  • Immigration policies 16%
  • Education 14%
  • Talent shortage 10%
  • Lack of diversity among tech executives 10%
  • The need for patent reform 8%
  • Lack of investment 6%
