This past summer, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, National Inventors Hall of Fame, and Collegiate Inventors Competition collaborated to support a new type of summer camp aimed at inspiring young inventors. ‚Camp Invention‘ took place in conjunction with the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Camp. Over 300 students learned about STEM subjects from local school teachers in Fort Belvoir, VA. This year’s theme was “Morphed!” – students were challenged to create toys which could change into something else. The students built prototypes, motor-powered vehicles, even pinball machines.
