Charles C. Kuo


Education: Charles received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University in 2006 and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2011.

Experience: Charles is experienced in all aspects of intellectual property law, having provided legal advice and assistance to management, technical, and administrative personnel in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.  He has successfully obtained domestic and foreign patent rights for clients in many technical fields, including computer software, circuitry, telecommunications, networking devices, mobile banking, aircraft systems, and video games.  Charles is experienced in analyzing patent strengths and weaknesses, reviewing source code and e-discovery, and preparing petitions for inter partes review to challenge the validity of patent portfolios.

Charles previously worked at GeoSpatial Technologies, Inc., where he had hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining GPS hardware and software on government vehicles, handsets, and computer systems.  Charles created detailed instruction manuals and tutorials, and conducted training sessions to teach the operation of the customized GPS software to a wide assortment of users, including dispatchers, police officers, firefighters, and school administrators.  His experience in explaining complex technology and processes formed the foundation for his patent prosecution practice.

Charles also worked in QA for Insomniac Games during the crunch time leading up to the launch of the PlayStation 3 and launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. During his time at Insomniac Games, he found so many ways to break free from intended map barriers that the invisible wall count skyrocketed.
